he then^,^ very reluctantly apparently went to work near the house and I in another place^.^ on going to the house at noon found he had taken his Box privately from the chambers and [illegible] [skidach] [illegible] [=ollie] having done almost nothing to recompense for the trouble he has just the women folks to to get and of the living things he has left behind him and which we had concluded to make the best of if he could^.^ This is the third one of the race we have tried within a month
