My Dear Friend A Post
As sister Annie is writing a reply to thy welcome
letter [addressed?] to herself ad E-
Howland. I thought Iwould just
add my with. J Webber's letter was
full of interest. I believe that I did
not need any awakening to sympathy
and action for the relief of this
[fountain?] of suffering humanity but
it is pleasant to know when to where
our contributions are most needed.
I commenced my efforts last
spring with the call from Port Royal
with sister Annie and some other
good friends succeeded in getting together
a nice box of articles of clothing and
forwarded it to [Pierce?] the government
agent at Port Royal. I received a short
