My very Dear Friends I have a few moments leisure time after the fatigues of the day, and I most pleasantly devote it to writing you a few lines.-- Thank God, the Southern Loyal Convention has met -- and it is composed of as glorious and noble a body of men as were ever congregated together for the Advancement of Human Freedom -- Their keynote is universal suffrage, and although a strong ???? is being brought upon them from the outside northern ???? -- a pressure to place themselves simply upon the Republican platform & open the suffrage questions -- they will stand firm and practicalize, so far as his??????? The question of the adversaries of male ???? comes up to  ???? & I am delighted to say that he has the great ??? of the ??? ?? with him -- what the northern delegates will do, is a ?? uncertain -- as now of there are bitterly prejudicial and some have declared that they will withdraw if he is admitted.
