her letters from P Ridge are quite lively for she
is good at description she says they went to see
Mary Peckham – who has taken on ^an^ unfortunate
cold woman and her babe to give her home as
Maria Meshar turnd her out - and Mary
thot she should have a home somewhere. My mind
went to my "Refuge" and just as it often does
especially as I take the [illegible] and read all
what is going on–what should I do without
such a paper unlike all these tho'
I also receive the "Universe Banner & Journal"
from my friends after they have read them^.^
They are just as good for me one friend of
Watkins sends a bundle as a time and they
are read and reread to my edification and
comfort I enjoy every thing with a zest which
savors of [illegible]. I have heard of a young
woman who went from John [Pacons?] place to
Dr _____ at Corning N.Y. was to return to take the
place of matron there. I can't get hold of his
name to names & figures leave sometimes but
thee knows him and sure are glad of his success [Encourage?]
to [veto?] me because thee knows I would like to know it
